Testimonial

International

“MDIS College’s teachers were enthusiastic about the subjects they taught and tried to involve students, showing both the beauty and relevance of the disciplines. I liked the way lessons were conducted. They were aimed not just to make us familiar with the syllabus, but also went beyond the demands of the curriculum. However, the prerogative is to prepare for the test and that is why the main focus is on what is required by the examination board. An important consideration for international students is that mentors are happy to go through anything that seems unclear and clarify with you. They consider the fact that some students may feel nervous in the new environment and that English may not be their first language and hence, will spend as much time as necessary until you eventually understand. As an excellent student, I am often asked how to excel in examinations. I got 3 A’s and 1 B for the GCE A-Levels, along with one Distinction for Mathematics. Honestly, I do not know any secret besides the hard work and determination. Just remember that ultimately your success is about the effort you put into the work. I can only sum up that MDIS College will give you a perfect environment to thrive in and will ensure you face as few hurdles as possible.”

“I am now undertaking the Preparatory Course for GCE ‘A’ Level Programme as I want to get into Nanyang Technological University for their Sport Science and Management programme. I aspire to be a Physical Education teacher.

The friendship which I forged with my classmates here is valuable. They are very kind and nice to me, regardless if they are enrolled in the 10-month or  16-month programme. What I will take away from my student experience in MDIS College is knowledge – I learn new subjects here especially Economics which I did not even touch in Hong Kong. And lastly, this is my second chance as I am very determined to get into university. Even though I failed to get into a university in Hong Kong, MDIS College has given me this opportunity to fight for it again.”

“The facilities provided by MDIS and MDIS Residences are fantastic. Not only are there ample study areas – they are fully-furnished with modern comforts – the Institute also has a large number of meeting rooms that students and lecturers alike can use for studying and consultation respectively. The coordinators are friendly and dedicated, and I love how passionate the teachers are about their subjects.”

“The thing that really impressed me about MDIS’ teachers is how responsible and dedicated they are to their work. Unlike the teachers back in China, who are only interested in repeating facts and figures until you can remember them by heart, MDIS’ tutors and lecturers go to great lengths to make sure that every lesson is interesting and engaging. Thanks to their efforts, I no longer dread going to class!”

“The teachers of MDIS College are not only caring and qualified, but also supportive and very willing to help students with anything: be it schoolwork or life, I have found that they were always there for us. With their experience and some hard work on my part, I managed to get a L1R5 of 10, which has in turn allowed me to enter Serangoon Junior College. Thank you MDIS College!”

“MDIS has been my home away from home for the past sixteen months: whenever I needed help, no matter what it was, someone was there for me, and I am grateful to the staff and teachers for this. With their help, I successfully managed to get A1 for all my ‘O’ level subjects (except English; I’m still working on that!). Thanks to these grades, I have been offered entry to many local tertiary education institutions such as Serangoon JC, Meridian JC and Catholic JC.”

“I am currently in the Preparatory Course for GCE 'O' Level Programme for 10 months. The teachers here are well-qualified and have an effective lesson plan. I must admit, one subject and one lesson for 3 hours per week is a little bit short compared to government schools.

But the teachers here have compensated it by giving extra remedial classes which you rarely encounter in other private education institutions. The teachers are really helpful as you can look for them anytime, be it before or after lessons. They are more than glad to help me in my weaker subjects. Thanks to them, I am now on my own personal target for every subject.

I hope to score well in my GCE 'O' Levels and get into a polytechnic. The courses that I am aiming for are accounting and finance, aviation and management services, and business studies.

MDIS College can help me achieve my aspirations by giving me support in the form of motivational quotes before exams. The quotes may seem short but they exude powerful meaning and provide strong motivation for me to work harder and achieve my target results.

Apart from that, the Head of School is very kind to give us make-up classes for missed lessons the very next day. That really helps me a lot.”

“I have benefited tremendously from the 10-month Preparatory course in MDIS College. The dedication of teachers has enabled me to grasp adequately on all there is to GCE ‘A’ Levels. The availability of well-equipped laboratories also enhanced my learning experience.

10 months with MDIS College heightened my grasp of H2 Level Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, as well has H1 Level Economics and General Paper.

Throughout the course, I have forged good friendships with many and participate in social and academic activities, helping out peers in course work and partaking in organised sports and social activities.

The biggest takeaway for me is the essence of value-add in the education credentials.”

“I was apprehensive with the route of taking GCE ‘A’ Levels as a private candidate. However, being surrounded by friendly classmates and tutors helped me overcome the doubts. They have always been very encouraging and motivating.

I benefitted tremendously from the tutors’ attention to each student; they ensured we understood the concepts and apply them accordingly in our papers.”
